The Café Market Explosion in the Region
The ASEAN Café market has seen accelerated growth in the last decade.
Presently, Malaysia enjoys one of the highest per capita consumption4 (68.8 USD) in this region and a total market size of 2 billion USD – almost as much as Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines combined. The Malaysian Café scene grows from strength to strength with a good mix of strong chains and innovative local independents.
The Heart of Malaysia’s Café Industry
With a focus on specialty coffee, artisan food, beverages, café lifestyle, services, and equipment, ICBS will offer a world-class exhibition in a rapidly developing sector of the lifestyle economy.
ICBS is the marketplace for café owners & managers and other sections of the F&B community to network and source high-quality products. The show will also provide suppliers with branding and sponsorship opportunities to a highly specialized and focused community.

Malaysia – A fast-growing Café market
  • Coffee Consumption
    • Over 60% of Malaysians regularly drink coffee with the daily average consumption at 2.38 cups per person, placing Malaysia into the top 50 coffee consuming countries in the world.
  • Coffee Chain Market Value
    • Estimated to be worth about USD2.1 million (m) or RM8.7m.
  • Consumer Price Index (CPI)
    • In 2019, Malaysia’s CPI is 121.46, rising steadily every year. This has supported the rise of a niche market serving premium and specialty coffee in Malaysia with an increasingly affluent population.
  • Competitive Environment
    • Following the demand for specialty coffee, players in the coffee industry continue to expand their premium ranges to meet these demands, spurring competitors to differentiate their product offerings.
      Malaysia National Coffee Championship (MNCC
ICBS will be supporting and co-hosting the 2021 Malaysia National Coffee Championship (MNCC) with the MSCA. Malaysian Baristas will get the opportunity to compete in several categories, all sanctioned as official World Coffee Events (WCE). The winners will represent Malaysia on the world stage.
